Get ready for an amazing summer of fun! Join our Sketchbook Socials (ages 12–16) to try out cool art techniques with your own sketchbook in a chill, friendly space. For ages 5–11, get creative with Plastic Free July – make sculptures, build robots, design emojis, and more! Try Story Yoga (ages 5–7) where stories come to life through movement, or learn real yoga moves if you’re 8–16. Love to dance? Each week brings a new style – Popstar, Musical, or Lyrical. Warm up, learn the moves, and show off your dance to your grown-ups. Come join the fun!

Party on the Pitch is a family event that gives young people the opportunity to take part in a range of different activities. The event will include bubble football, air soft, bouncy castle, treasure hunt, rounders. arts and crafts and much more. Families are encouraged to come up and enjoy the day. The aim of the event is to bring people together and it also coincides with the start of our Common Riding week. We will also have a visit from the front three on the day.

Xcel Youth Trust

The Bluelight Music Night will take place at the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm. The event is aimed at young people aged 12-17. There will be three performers/acts, two DJs and one band on the night. These would all be local performers. At the event there will be information relating to drugs, alcohol etc as well as a number of chill out zones. We will have a gaming area so the young people can also relax in there. It will be a fun night at the start of the school holidays. An event where they can enjoy being young people.

Get ready for another epic Plantasia adventure! Last year, we turned the park into magical lands like Wonka’s shop and Sonic Land. This year’s themes are even cooler! If you're 5-16 years old, we need your help to create fun, colourful exhibits. Whether you love gardening, painting, or crafting, there's a role for you. We'll have hammocks and den building too! Children under 12 need an adult with them. Adults can relax and enjoy the park and don’t need to take part. Juice and snacks will be provided all day.

Our event includes a free family fun day with many activities for all to get involved in. These include, facepainting, large inflatables, pottery tent, soft play area, craft tent etc.

Dalry Community Council

Families are invited to enjoy Dalry Library and the beautiful garden space throughout the summer holidays. Outdoor games and play equipment will be available for all ages. A new gazebo will offer shade and shelter, come rain or shine. Indoors, our much-loved LEGO sessions, Bookbug storytelling, and colouring and craft stations continue as usual. These outdoor sessions offer space to move, play, and connect—bringing the joy of the library into the open air. Activities will be led by our friendly librarian creating a warm, welcoming vibe all summer long. Children and young people must be accompanied by an adult.

Glenkens Community Centre (DCPT)

Join us for two magical days of creativity and storytelling—with outdoor and indoor crafts. Aged 5-16 (younger siblings welcome) Day 1: Paint a giant wooden dragon, make colourful masks, and sculpt your own mini clay dragons to take home. Day 2: Decorate dragon scales with mini messages, craft feathers using a variety of materials and gather for dragon stories with our amazing local storyteller. Each child receives a free T-shirt to paint in and keep. Children must be accompanied by an adult - there’ll be tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits provided.

Summer in the Garden Sessions Join us for a day of planting some colourful flowers, rock painting, playing some exciting garden games and much more! A great chance to try new things, be creative and have some fun in the sun! Free snacks, chill vibes and good times guaranteed. Fully accessible and open to ages 5 -16, with a welcoming space for everyone to feel included and comfortable. Free to join, but registration is required.

DGC Arts and Museums (RBFT Music)

Traditional music will be coming to the Robert Burns Centre in Dumfries this summer.  Young people will have the opportunity to learn from musicians and have a go at playing different instruments.  They’ll also work towards a short performance at the last home of Robert Burns (who loved traditional music and song).
