Camp DG 2026 Young people across D&G are invited to participate in the 2026 Amazing Summer Camps experience. Participants will take part in 3 activity days, with day 1 hosted in their local area, followed by a 2 day/1 night residential camp. The camps are fun, energetic and an amazing opportunity to try something new this summer! Young people can sign up to participate in one of the following camps: (a) Primary 7 (pupils that are moving up to high school after summer) (b) S1 – S6 Camps are completely free, all transport, food and equipment will be provided! Each participant will receive a Camp DG hoody, t-shirt and water bottle as a souvenir of their time at camp!

The Summer Mix! Taster Sessions & Masterclasses for young people aged 10–17, an energetic mix of activities that promote creativity, confidence, and friendship. The Summer Mix offers range of experiences—from sport and martial arts to wellbeing workshops, cooking, crafting and getting in touch with the great outdoors! The programme will provide free, accessible summer activities supporting the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of children and young people within the community. Activities will include free packed lunches during the holidays, helping address food insecurity and reduce pressure on families. A community fun day featuring a fun run, open-water plunge, crafts, water sports, and a silent disco will encourage physical activity, creativity, confidence, and social connection. All activities will be free of charge, ensuring accessibility within a rural community where affordable opportunities are limited. Overall, the project will reduce isolation, strengthen wellbeing, and create positive shared experiences and lasting memories.

Better Lives Partnership – Supported Games Session

Supported games session for neurodivergent young people. In the morning, after a warm welcome and a tour of the facilities, we will go over to the Ryan Centre for a range of fun activities with a parachute canopy, and bean bag toss, basketball hoops, volleyball, boccia and golf. After lunch, which will be provided, we will play a variety of indoor fun games back at the Better Lives Partnership site.

Better Lives Partnership – Let’s Get Crafty

Let’s Get crafty with this supported creative session for neurodivergent young people of all abilities! In the morning, after a warm welcome and a tour of the facilities we will be making jewellery, clay pottery and self-portraits! An opportunity to express ourselves and be creative! After lunch, which will be provided, we will be getting creative in the kitchen decorating our own cookies and cupcakes.

Join us on the water and have a go at either paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing together with your family! Get your family together and practice new sports, have fun and make memories this Amazing Summer! You don’t need to have any experience, and we provide all the equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. Can’t swim? That doesn’t matter - your buoyancy aid will be keep you afloat and we will support and help you build confidence in the water.

Arts Workshops for young people in Wigtown at Kaos Café aged p6-s6. The first week of the workshops, we have a magician coming in to teach the young people magic tricks and a storyteller as well. The second workshop has a Highland dance teacher coming in to teach a dance and a drummer coming in as well. The final week is a showcase which parents and members of the community will be invited to, where they can showcase what they learned in the previous weeks.

We are offering free workshops for young people in woodworking, with a chance to spend a day making your own turned object or piece of furniture, using easy-to-learn techniques. Our trainers will support young participants, from beginners to those who’ve tried woodworking before. Lunch and breaks will be provided.
