A Day in the Park at Agnew Park, on Saturday 23 July will see a Big Kite Display with impressively-sized inflatable kites exhibited. Children will have the opportunity to make their own small version of the kites through arts and crafts on the day. There will also be a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, face painting, magic clown and mascots.

Outdoor adventure and film-making fun! Enjoy a day of water and dry-land activities at the Galloway Activity Centre, Loch Ken, with a chance to use Go-pro cameras to film your adventures. Next day, join us at CatStrand, New Galloway to turn your footage into a short film with the help of a professional filmmaker. There are two blocks available, one for ages 7-9 and one for ages 10-14. You should be able to attend the whole day at the activity centre and one of two filmmaking sessions the next day. Young people from the Glenkens area will be prioritised.

A fun filled day at Abernathy, live the adventure, Barcaple for children aged between 5 and 14 years old in Dumfries & Galloway that have a disability and their siblings. You will have the opportunity to do kayaking, archery, abseiling, and wall climbing at the centre. The day will run from arrival at 10am where we will split in to 2 groups and work as a team during the activities. We will then have a break for lunch 12noon-1pm - lunch will be provided at the venue. The day will then continue with activities after lunch in your groups. Every activity is led by a fully qualified instructor who will help you achieve your goals and overcome any fears you may have.

Talk Textiles will develop your knowledge of textiles, how things are made and how we can improve our personal sustainability. The workshops will focus on different aspects of the textile industry including sewing machine basics, hand embroidery & simple mending techniques, upcycling an item of clothing, weaving and knitting fabrics. The workshops will be focused around using up old fabrics and equipment so that we don’t create waste during the sessions. Projects the Talk Textiles sessions will include will be; make a patchwork bag, learn to crochet, natural fabric dyeing, weaving fabric and upcycling.

Tots Textiles is a fun and interactive group aimed at children aged 5-8 years old to attend with siblings and parents/carers. Tots Textiles activities will include a variety of activities to develop skill in early learning textile skills including weaving fabrics, hand sewing and simple embroidery skills. Each session the children attending will take home a textile piece they have made. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
