Physical activity sessions will improve children's knowledge about sport but add to their skills set, gain confidence, experience and socialisation with themselves and others. Golf and Karate will be on offer. Children attending our Family Fun Day will get a FREE healthy packed lunch and attendance to other sessions health snacks will be on offer, letting children enjoy because of family food poverty. The Family Fun Day will be offered as a family festival. A trip would be organised for children ages 5-16 years old with accompanying adults/parents/carers and this would be to Glasgow Science Centre, this trip will be educational and motivational and related to the nature environment which we live in. Craft sessions will additionally be on offer, along with outdoor activities and these sessions will be child led with adult support.

LGBT Youth Scotland

LGBT Youth Scotland will host 6 hybrid Sessions which can be attended in person or online for LGBTQ+ young people and their allies 13-16 (25 years if LAC) years living within Dumfries and Galloway. Each participant will receive an activity pack that with an exciting array of craft equipment, useful information, and a variety of snacks for each person to have the equality of experience across the 6 sessions whether together in person or digitally. These sessions will be focused on fun to allow young people to interact with a wider peer community and make friendships across the region.

Include Us at Catherine Street Inclusive Park: Plantasia

Plantasia is back woohoo! Last year we turned the park into scenes from The Polar Express, The Jungle Book, Moana, Paddington, Trollz and Shrek. We need your help to create new, imaginative themed displays. We’ll make things, paint things, grow things and work together to make fun, colourful exhibits in the park. So, whether you prefer gardening, designing, painting or crafting there is a fun role for you. We have morning and afternoon sessions on Tuesdays throughout the holidays. So, if you’re ready for some inclusive Outdoor fun for ages 5-16 years old, book your space today and be ready to join us for an adventure!

Arts & Crafts workshops, 2 days a week for 5 weeks the summer holidays. At these workshops children attending will have a say on what they would like to make and learn. All materials will be provided and local artists will deliver these workshops. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Workshops aimed at age groups 5 years to 12 years. Robert Burns Centre – We will be hiring out the venue to take a group of children and parents to watch a film at the centre and provide snacks and refreshments.

Art of the Cosmos Young People will have the opportunity of a guided tour of our cosmos under our Planetarium as we visit planets, moons, stars, nebula and constellations before working with artists and our team to re-imagine their universe in paint, ink or pencil. STEM Pottery Although we’re a Planetarium we’re keen to explore all STEM subjects. We’ll be showing We Are Guardians (A full dome film exploring satellite technology being used to monitor and combat climate change) before looking at some of humanity’s oldest clay works and discussing what inspired our ancestors, we’ll then join The Wee Pottery to decorate their own STEM inspired clay work. The Story of the Cosmos Join our storyteller on a tour through the solar system before writing your own story of the cosmos. Sci-Club Satellites We’ll be discussing satellite technology and building our own model satellites! Ages are split for primary students on 6th and Secondary students on the 20th July
